I recently heard back from the publisher about my non-fiction book, All About Archie. They have decided to pass on it. I was a bit disappointed, but I didn't dwell on it. I am just trying to think of it like this - that it wasn't the right home for my book. 😊
I am waiting to hear back from two more publishers, but in the meantime I am getting a tad impatient and am thinking of preparing the manuscript in order to (self) publish it as an e-book. I really believe in this book - it will help wannabe puppy parents.🐶With that in mind I don't plan to contact any more publishers. I should hear back from one of the publishers within the next week or so, according to their guidelines. I'm beginning to think I'll never hear from the other publisher, as I've never even been sent so much as an acknowledgement. As always, I'll keep you posted.
In other writing news, I am still in the process of writing what I was calling my Christmas 🎄story, and which I now call 'Ella', as that is the name of the main character. It's a story about memory loss. I don't think Christmas will feature in it much, if at all - funny how your ideas change as you go along. I've recently added a dog to the story too, when I had no thoughts of doing so in the beginning. Anyway, I am nearing the end of the first draft of 'Ella', which is when the hard work begins!
My third project is getting Snapshots - my collection of stories - available in paperback.📖I had to ask my hubby for help to turn the e-book cover into one suitable for an actual book, and work is nearly finished on this. I had thought I'd have to create my book via CreateSpace, but since Amazon KDP have announced you can now get proof copies, I will go with them instead.
I am also still working as a volunteer for the Medical Detection Dogs charity, writing articles for their magazine, and I've recently volunteered to help run the Twitter account for a charity called The Alternative Animal Sanctuary, which I am enjoying.😍 Follow us @AltAnimalSanc I'll tell you more about the sanctuary in a future post.
