Formatting woes

My new book, All About Archie, is a non-fiction book and it's based on my experience of bringing up a puppy. It's almost ready for publication. I've had a lot of trouble with the formatting; the text was fine as I'm well used to formatting text for my novelettes, but the photos have posed more of a problem. I've tried everything I can think of - my husband has had a look too, but whilst the photos will show on the KDP previewer for newer Kindle models, phones and tablets, they won't show for older Kindle models. I contacted Kindle Direct Publishing for help, but it didn't resolve the issue. I also got a quote to have someone else do the formatting for me. I could just publish the text, but it's a shame because the photos are a nice addition. Maybe I could make the photos available somewhere else - on this blog for instance - and post a link to them. I will ponder some more.

In the meantime a publisher I contacted a while back has now asked to see a sample of the book, so I think it best not to go ahead and self-publish before I hear back from them.

I have finalised the cover as you can see. I've decided to publish under my real name. Helen Libby is a pseudonym and I will keep that for my fiction work.

I hope to have more news about this book soon. In the meantime I am working on another novelette.

Helen x
